Channa Chaat
A tangy and flavourful chaat made with boiled chickpeas, fresh vegetables, and tamarind chutney. A refreshing starter or snack that you can customise with additional ingredients like chopped raw mango or pomegranate seeds.
Ingredients
- 1½ cups boiled chickpeas (chaana)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 boiled potatoes, chopped into cubes
- 1 small tomato, finely chopped
- 1 small cucumber, finely chopped
- 1 small green chilli, finely chopped (optional)
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney
- 4 tablespoons yoghurt (optional)
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder (optional)
- Salt to taste

In a mixing bowl, add the boiled chickpeas, chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, green chilli (if using), and coriander leaves. Mix well.

Add the tamarind chutney to the bowl. Adjust the quantity of chutney based on your taste preferences.

Sprinkle chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, red chilli powder (if using), lemon juice, and salt over the mixture. Toss everything together to coat the ingredients evenly.

Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

Transfer the Channa Chaat to a serving dish or individual bowls.
